Jumla Rara Lake trekking

This is popular destination for a trek in Western Nepal. The route is very much off the beaten track and affords glimpse of culture and scenery very different from those in the rest of Nepal. Rara is a high altitude clear lake ringed with pine spruce and juniper forest and snow capped Himalayan Peaks. It is a good choice if you are bird watcher or desire something close to wilderness solitude. Rara the largest Lake in Nepal is in the high elevation towards the north west of Nepal. Only a few number of trekkers done this trek to experience it\'s unique culture and dramatic landscape with some historically important place on the way. Rara Lake lies at 2980 m., the greatest lake in Nepal and Rara National Park enhances the attraction of trekkers. The Rara National Park is known as the home of Himalayan black bear, Red panda, Chorals. This trek is nature\'s paradise for botanists, naturalizes and birds watchers. The trek begins with flight to Jumla and exploring the Himalayan vegetation, different kinds of birds and wild animals.

This Lake is as deep as 167 meters in some places, and drains into the river Mugu Karnali via Nijar Khola. The Rara National Park is the home of endangered red panda, common langur (Black n white monkey), and rhesus macaque. Rhododendron, juniper, oak, spruce and Cyprus are the rich vegetations of this area. Rara trekking area is an adequate habitat for rare and endangered wildlife. Day 01: Arrival In Kathmandu, Transfer to the hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu City Tour. Preparetion for the trek
Day 03: Fly Kathmandu to Nepalgunj
Day 04: Fly Nepalgunj to Jumla and to Chala Chaur at (2'900m. 9'514ft.)
Day 05: Chala Chaur - Cross a Pass about 7 hours Trek
Day 06: Cross a Pass via Sinja at (2'440m. 8'005ft.) to Botan at (2'600m. 8'530ft.)
Day 07: Botan - Rara Park border
Day 08: Rara Park border - Rara Lake at (3'062m 10'045ft.)
Day 09-10: At Rara lake for day exploration
Day 11: Rara lake - Jhyari at (2'630m. 8'628ft.)
Day 12: Jhyari - Ghurchi Lagna pass at (3'450m. 11'318ft.) - at (2'770m. 9'087ft.)
Day 13: Chautha - Tharamara at (3'280m. 10'761ft.)
Day 14: Tharamara - Jumla about 7 hours Trek
