Overview

The 6-Day Kathmandu Heritage, Manakamana Cable Car, Pokhara & Sacred Muktinath Overland Tour by Om Holidays Tour & Trek expands the classic pilgrimage into a comprehensive cultural and Himalayan adventure. Beginning with a warm welcome and an immersive full-day guided pilgrimage across Kathmandu Valley’s most sacred UNESCO World Heritage monuments—Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Patan Durbar Square, and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple)—the journey continues overland along the Prithvi Highway with an aerial cable car ride to Manakamana Temple before arriving in lakeside Pokhara.

From Pokhara, the expedition ventures deep into the dramatic Kali Gandaki River canyon, ascending from lush subtropical river valleys to the arid, high-altitude rain-shadow landscapes of Lower Mustang. Pilgrims visit sacred Muktinath Temple (3,760 m – 3,800 m) to take holy baths beneath the 108 stone spouts and view the eternal flame, explore the ancient stone-paved alleys and apple orchards of Marpha, and return overland with scenic vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.

    • Patan Durbar Square: Explore the ancient Malla royal city of Lalitpur, famous for exquisite Newari stone and wood craftsmanship, the 17th-century Krishna Mandir, and historical palace courtyards.

    • Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple): Ascend the historic hilltop stone stairway for 360-degree panoramic views over Kathmandu Valley beneath the all-seeing eyes of the Buddha.
